What is Ombre Powder Brows?Ombre Powder Brows is semi permanent makeup. It gives the look of having your brows filled in with makeup pencil or powder. With ombre, you get the dark to light effect creating dimension in your brows.

How long will it last?The expected longevity is 2-3years depending on your skin type, lifestyle, and how you care for it. Increased exposure to sunlight especially without sunscreen is one example that will speed fading. Over time, the color will fade and become light.

Does it hurt?A topical anesthetic will be used before and throughout the procedure. The pain level is tolerable and comparable to plucking. However, it does vary person to person and every effort will be made to ensure you remain comfortable. If you are on your menstrual cycle, you will be more sensitive.

Am I a good candidate for Ombre Powder Brows?Ombre powder brows is good for all skin types such as dry, normal, oily, or sensitive. You may not be a good candidate for Ombre Powder Brows if you have certain health conditions or take certain medications. Semi permanent makeup is NOT recommended for clients who are or have: Under the age of 18 Pregnant or breastfeeding Chemotherapy/radiation Skin conditions such as keloids, skin irritations or rashes near the site Viral infections or diseases, cold or flu Botox within the last 1 month Autoimmune disease Used accutane in the past year Diabetes, epilepsy Please inform your artist if you have any allergies, medical conditions, or take any medications.

How long does it take to heal?The healing process should take 10-14 days. At day 2, your brows will appear darker but do not be alarmed this is expected. The color will lighten 20-30% when healed and will continue to fade over time. At day 3-5, you can expect your brows to start flaking. During the flaking period, your brows will appear light and patchy but give it 2-4 weeks the color will even out and resurface. Once your brows are done flaking or after 14 days, you may resume normal activities such as applying makeup, working out, etc. (EXCEPT certain activities listed in the aftercare) To prolong the longevity of your brows, avoid aggressive washing and exfoliating of the brow and wear sunscreen when exposed to sunlight.

What is the process for Ombre Powder Brows?Once you have read through the FAQ and signed consent, we will first draw your brows with an eyebrow pencil according to how you like it. I will ONLY start the semi permanent tattoo process once you have approved the shape and color of choice that is fit for you. Once you have finalized your decision, we will begin the semi permanent tattoo process. You will be numbed before and during the procedure with topical anesthetic to make sure you are comfortable the whole time. Expect a booking time of 3 hours.

What should I do before my appointment?If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, bring or send few reference photos. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so I can take into consideration the shape you desire. You may pluck any unwanted stray hair if you would like but I will be doing that for you during brow mapping. You do not have to shave your brows prior to procedure. You will not experience any permanent hair loss from the semi permanent tattoo process. Precare:Exfoliate your brows a few days before and moisturize your brows. The softer it is the easier it is to work with.Avoid any blood thinning medication day of treatment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, and Ibuprofen.Do not consume ANY alcohol and caffeine for at least 24 hours prior your appointment.If you have anemia or low iron, please take an iron supplement prior to procedure.

When can I schedule my touch-up appointment?Touchup appointment can be scheduled in 6-8 weeks. This is optional. Touchup session is considered a perfection session to go over any spots that did not pick up the pigment well or if you would like to go darker/bigger etc. If you are happy with the results, no need to schedule a touchup appointment. They should last you 2-3 years and you may return as soon as bi-annually for a color reboost. Touchups are not done every year to maintain skin integrity.

I have old microblading on my brows, will you still be able to do them?Yes if it is faded by 50-70%. If they are too dark, you will not be able to get the ombre effect and it may come out darker or block-y. It is best to get tattoo removal first. Photos must be sent and approved before booking.

After Care
RIGHT AFTER PROCEDURE
INSTRUCTIONS
Expect some redness and swelling right after the procedure. After the procedure, your lips will appear too dark and unnatural. It will heal and lighten by 30-50%.

Day 1-7 Gently clean the area by dabbing cool water on your lips with a clean cotton pad or swab. After cleaning, make sure to pat your lips dry with a clean tissue. Use ice pack to help with swelling day 1-2.

After cleaning, use a cotton swab to apply a very thing coat of lip ointment we provide. It is recommended to use lip ointment 3-5 times a day for 2 weeks. Your lips will feel chapped and dry for 2-3 weeks.

Week 1: The lips begin the cracking and peeling stage. This is completely normal.

Week 2-4: Lip may appear light for the first month and appear too light.

Week 8: Color takes up to 8 weeks for the full color to show.
It is crucial that during the healing period that you maintain facial hygiene and AVOID:

AVOID Water on your lips in the shower, only clean lips as needed by dabbing cool water on lips and pat dry.

AVOID eating foods that can potentially irritate the skin (i.e. spicy, hot, oily, salty, acidic, seafood, etc). Make sure to gently clean your lips and rinse your mouth after each meal.

NO KISSING UNTIL PEELING STAGE IS OVER.

DO not cover your lips with masks, bandages, plastic wrap, etc.

NO swimming, hot yoga, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or tanning bed for 10 days
-
Touching or picking the lips (apply ointment with Q-tip). Picking can lead to color loss, scarring and infection (especially if hands are not clean).

Any makeup on the area

Workouts that involve a lot of sweating; sauna, facial massage and steaming

Sun tanning or salon tanning; swimming; excessive sun exposure (wear a hat when outside for a longer period)

Drinking alcohol and smoking in excess (may lead to slow healing)
What to expect during the healing period

Your lips will start to darken over the next couple of days and this is normal. Keep in mind that your lips will lighten by 30-50% depending on your skin type.

At day 3-5, you can expect your lips to itch and flake. Your lips will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. When the flakes fall off, some areas of the lips may appear too light but with time, the color will resurface. It is crucial that you do not pick/touch your lips to avoid color loss, possible scarring and infection.

Total lip healing time is 14 days. You may resume normal activities at 14 days.

After 14 days, lips may be light as if they were never done. Final result and color will be at 8 weeks. Please trust the healing process and give it the full time it needs before judging the results.
IN THE NEXT 30 DAYS:
Avoid sunbathing, solarbrium, light therapies, chemical peelings, fruit acids, microdermabrasion, creams that contain regeneration factors. Use of antibiotics and hormonal therapy can speed pigment fading.
After 14 days, apply sunscreen to the brows when exposed to sunlight to promote longevity. Other ways to extend the color of your brows: being gentle around the brow area when washing your face or when exfoliating avoid the brow area.
Always avoid laser treatments over the treated area (fraxel, laser, IPL) because it can destroy the pigments.
Touch Up Appointment
A touchup session is considered a perfection session to fill in any spots that did not take pigment well. Touchups are recommended as everyone heals differently. It can be scheduled anytime after 8 weeks as it takes up to 8 weeks for full results. New procedures are a two step process and final results are sometimes not guaranteed until a follow visit is completed.
